Time to kick the staple party poms up a notch! We all love these poofy balls of tissue fluff, but Party Poms, in addition to having a great selection of solid and patterned (read: stripes! Polka dots!) poms, also feature two great new spins on these great bits of decor. Party Poms offers them in garland and mobile formats which, in my opinion, are brilliant. The mobile is great decor for a children’s room or nursery (where they’re already popular), but can also be great party decor for baby showers and children’s birthdays as well. Garlands, of course, are great for any celebratory occasion, so combining two party decor favorites into one stunning piece? So smart, but also making me wonder why I didn’t think of that!

In my weekly quest to find the most adorable stuff for my nursery inspiration boards on Hellobee, I stumbled across Lovely Gift for Kid, which sells some of the sweetest theme-driven mobiles I’ve seen. While my personal tastes tend to go more modern rather than “cute”, I can’t help but be head over heels over these mobiles. The little owls in particular had me at “hello”! The best part? Happy Leap Day! Today I’m excited to share with you some adorable party garlands I found from Tuck & Bonte. These beauties are made with colored fabric strips and would look adorable behind a dessert table, layered in a photo booth, or even simply strung up as decor in a bedroom or child’s room. Hello, everyone! I don’t have much of a week in review for you this week, but I did want to check in and let everyone know that posting over the next week will probably be light as I focus on preprogramming this blog for my maternity leave. I can’t believe it’s come so fast – it seems like only yesterday I was announcing that we were expecting our little girl – but now she’s due at any moment and I want to make sure that Somewhere Splendid gets relatively uninterrupted posting in my absence.
