Drink Recipe: Signature Pink Lemonade Cocktail

As some of you know, I also run a wedding blog, the Inspired Bride. Today on IB, I’m sharing a shoot that I put together with some of my friends that has a splendid pink lemonade recipe I worked on while trying to find a balance of ingredients that not only tasted great but had the perfect shade of pink. While I won’t be sharing the shoot here, I thought I’d share the recipe – it is getting warmer, after all, and what better summer drink is there than a pink lemonade?

ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup room temperature water
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 3 teaspoons grenadine
  • vodka (optional)

instructions

Create simple syrup: Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan and place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture occasionally to help it dissolve, if necessary, then remove the saucepan from the heat when the sugar has completely dissolved. Set aside to cool.

Pour the lemon juice (either fresh squeezed or store bought is fine) into a pitcher. Dilute the lemonade with the cold water, then add the simple syrup and grenadine and stir thoroughly to combine. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.

Optional: To create an alcoholic version, add vodka to taste and mix thoroughly before chilling. The recommended amount of alcohol is approximately 4 to 6 ounces, depending on how strong you prefer it.

  2. My husband discovered that raspberry vodka is the perfect addition to pink lemonade. It’s the most delicious summer drink…reminds me of backyard parties and days on the boat! ;)

  3. The drink looks lovely! Where did you get the gold stars? I am throwing my sister-in-law a baby shower and the theme is “A Star is Born,” and I think they would be perfect!
